Garbanzo Beans with Sesame Spread
This popular Mediterranean spread is not oνly delicious it is very nutritious and packed with protein and fiber. Lavosh (a cracker bread) or pita bread is traditionally served with the mixture for spreading or dipping.
1 can (15 oz.) garbanzo beans drained
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup tahini paste
3 tbs chopped green onion
1/4 tsp ground cumin
2 garlic cloves, peeled
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Parsley sprigs or cilantro for garnish
Lavosh (cracker bread) or pita bread, quartered
1. Place the cooked beans in a blender or food processor with the lemon juice, tahini, onion, cumin, and garlic.
2. Add salt and pepper and blend again.
3. Turn into a bowl, cover and chill.
