Fried Seafood with Mastic
This fabulous Greek seafood dish is the ideal meze to enjoy with some ice cold ouzo.
- 4-5 mussels
- 4-5 shrimps, cleaned
- 1 calamari, cleaned and sliced
- an octopus tentacle
- 2 tsp of crushed mastic with salt
- ½ cup olive oil
- ½ small bottle of ouzo
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 lemon
- 1 glass water
Cut the octopus and the calamari into pieces and fry with a little oil.
Add the rest of the seafood after about 5 minutes, along with the mastic.
Add the minced garlic and cool off with ouzo and splash in the lemon juice.
Let the mixture cook for 5 more minutes until most of the juice disappears.
