Octopus

A cephalopod mollusc found worldwide in warm seawater, with eight tentacles covered in suction cups and with no internal or external skeleton. Octopus is popular in both Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine; in the Mediterranean the carcass is pounded against the rocks in order to tenderdise the flesh, hung out to dry, and then eaten either grilled, boiled with vinegar, or stewed.
