Cheese Pie (without pastry)

This version of the classic Greek cheese pie is often called tiropita without trousers since it is made without the traditional Greek phyllo pastry.  It is so easy to make and just as delicious to eat.

Ingredients:

4 tbs softened butter
3 eggs
200 g feta cheese, grated
2 tbs kefalotyri, Romano, or Parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 c strained yogurt
75 g sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder

Procedure:

Preheat the oven at 230° C.

1.  Beat the butter until pale and fluffy and add the eggs one at a time, beating well.

2.  Add the rest of the ingredients and beat well again.

3.  Pour the batter into a buttered 10-inch (25 cm) baking tin and bake for 10 minutes.

4.  Then lower heat to 200° C and continue baking for half an hour.
