Lentil Burgers

These vegetarian burgers are easy to make, filling, delicious, and packed with protein.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup brown lentils
1 bay leaf
2 medium onions chopped
2 cloves garlic crushed
2 tbs oil
1 tbs chopped parsley (dried)
1/2 tsp basil (dried)
1/2 tsp marjoram (dried)
1/4 tsp thyme (dried)
salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 medium eggs
2 tbs tomato paste
2 tbs dark soy sauce
1/2 cup plain flour

Procedure:

 

1.  Cook lentils with bay leaf till soft, remove bay leaf and drain.

2.  Saute garlic and onions till clear, add herbs.

3.  Mix rest of ingredients, it should be soft but workable, make into patties and fry in a little oil and brown on each side.

 

 

Tips

You can freeze some patties (1/4-3/8 inch, in gladwrap) and then cook directly from the freezer
