Greek Salad - Horiatiki

This is the authentic Greek salad. Crunchy, tasteful and preferably made in the summer months when all the ingredients are in full season. Accompany with bread to indulge in the heavenly combination of tastes that are left at the bottom of the salad bowl.

4 large tomatoes 
1 large onion
1 green pepper
1 cucumber
1OO gr. feta cheese cut in small pieces
Kalamata Olives ( the black ones)
extra virgin Greek olive oil
Coarse Salt
Oregano, fresh crumbled or dry


Wash the vegetables with plenty of water and dry them. 

Cut the ingredients in a large bowl, add salt, olives, feta, cheese, oregano and olive oil.

Make sure you put enough olive oil to be able to soak up the tastiness with the bread at the end!


Tear a piece from a loaf of bread with your fingers, and soak up the oil left in the bowl! The plate must be left looking as if it is cleaned, ready for the cupboard.
