A tropical fruit that is cultivated in Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, Australia and Asia. It is quite large, ovaloid in shape, with a thin, smooth yellow, orange, red or green skin. Its flesh is bright yellow, juicy and sweet and encloses a large, oblong stone. It is eaten fresh as is, or made into chutney.
