Pecan nut
The central stone of the fruit of a large hickory tree "Carya illinoensis", mainly grown in central and southern United States. It has walnut-like wrinkled flesh enclosed in a smooth, oval, brown outer shell, ie rich and buttery in flavour, and is eaten fresh or in desserts such as pecan pie.
