Mint

Also called mentha, an aromatic herb with small white or purple flowers and oblong or lanceolate serrated leaves arranged in opposite pairs and ranging in colour from green to purple. The leaves have a fresh, sweet, warm flavour and leave a cool aftertaste, and are used fresh to add flavour to meat dishes or in cocktails, or as a flavouring for toothpastes, chewing gum, jelly and ice-cream.
